Yes — you need an e-matrica to drive on Hungary's motorways. It applies to foreign-registered vehicles exactly as it does to Hungarian ones, and enforcement is automatic and camera-based.
Hungary's vignette is fully digital and linked to your licence plate, so there is nothing to display in the windscreen. The plate and the country of registration you give us must match the vehicle exactly.
